Akshay Kumar’s social-drama ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, which released yesterday opened up with good word of the mouth and mixed reports from the critics. The film did well at the box office on its opening day despite it started low in the morning shows, due to positive word of mouth, the occupancies got improved in the later shows.
The film minted Rs 13.20 crores nett approximately at the Indian box office on Friday with a gross amount of Rs 17.29 crores and a distributor share amount of Rs 6.73 crores. While the film is estimated to gross around $1.2 million approximately from the overseas markets, which released in 590 screens.
On the whole, Akshay Kumar – Shree Narayan Singh’s ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ grossed Rs 24.98 crores approximately at the worldwide box office with a distributor share amount of Rs 9.80 crores approximately.
As the film’s Indian theatrical rights were sold for Rs 53.10 crores, ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ needs to mint Rs 46.37 crores to reach its break-even amount at the Indian box office.
