Victory Venkatesh – Ritika Singh’s sports drama ‘Guru’ crossed Rs 21 crores mark at the ticket window in its 19 days run worldwide. The film raked Rs 17.97 crores share from Two Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in its 19 days run.
In the USA, Venkatesh’s ‘Guru’ minted $184.2k until now. The Karnataka and the rest of the areas collection in 19 days are Rs 2.22 crores and Rs 55 lakhs share.
On the whole, Sudha K Prasad directional film ‘Guru’ raked Rs 21.18 crores share in its 19 days run worldwide. As the film’s theatrical rights were sold for Rs 17 crores, the movie remained as profitable venture by earning Rs 4.18 crores until now.
However, the film’s business was almost closed in Karnataka, Overseas and rest of the areas and the collections in AP/TS box office also dropped down heavily after the third weekend.
Finally, Guru was estimated to collect between Rs 22 to 23 crores share in its closing run.
The film is an official remake of Tamil movie ‘Irudhi Suttru’, which released as Saala Khadoss in Hindi, starring Madhavan in the lead role and Sudha K Prasad herself helmed the original version. Venkatesh played the role of Madhavan as boxing coach and Ritika Singh reprised her role from the original version. Santosh Narayanan composed the music and it is produced by S Sashikanth under his Y NOT Studios banner.
