Vin Diesel’s action-thriller ‘Fast and Furious 8’, which released yesterday across India with paid previews, opened up with positive reviews from the critics and the moviegoers. The film off to superb start at the Kochi Multiplexes by minting Rs 8.12 lakhs gross from 26 shows with an occupancy of 96.71%.
Surprisingly F. Gary Gray’s directional movie surpassed the first day collections of Megastar Mammootty’s ‘Puthan Panam’ at the Kochi Multiplexes, which minted Rs 7.68 lakhs from 27 shows with an occupancy of 91.66%.
Overall, the film minted Rs 1.9 crores gross at the Kerela box office from the paid previews, which released across 100 screens.
On the other hand, the movie raked Rs 10.6 lakhs gross from the Chennai city and the total premiere shows collection of the ‘Fast and Furious 8’ in India was said to gross over Rs 10 crores.
Thus the eighth installment of Fast and Furious titled as ‘Fate of the Furious’ off to good start at the Indian box office.
However, we need to wait and see whether it can surpass ‘Fast and Furious 7’ India collections of Rs 154 crores gross in its final run or not? in forthcoming days.
