Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s patriotic movie ‘1971 Beyond Borders’ is heading towards flop at the box office. The Major Ravi’s directional movie, which released on April 7th, received a poor response from the critics and the moviegoers. The poor talk affected the film’s box office performance and its theatrical run almost comes to an end.
It grossed Rs 7.10 crores with a share amount of Rs 3.20 crores in its 13 days run at the Kerela box office. In the Kochi Multiplexes, the movie raked Rs 31.24 lakhs gross until now.
As the movie was made on a budget close to Rs 15 crores, Mohanlal – Major Ravi’s ‘1971 Beyond Borders’ is going to remain as a huge loss venture for the buyers.
Nonetheless, the film released in UAE-GCC today across 61 locations and it is going to release in Singapore from tomorrow onwards.
Mohanlal played a dual role in the film as Colonel Mahadevan and Major Sahadevan and Tollywood actor Allu Sirish essayed the role of Tank Commander. Haneef Mohammed bankrolled the project under his Red Rose Creations banner.
