Mollywood Megastar Mammootty’s ‘The Great Father’, which released on March 30th, is performing extremely well at the ticket window in the Kerela. The movie dominated the Kerela box office in its second weekend too despite competition from Mohanlal’s new release ‘1971 Beyond Borders’.
The film minted Rs 56 lakhs gross on the 12th day of its release taking the total 12 days collections of Mammootty’s ‘The Great Father’ to Rs 24.64 crores gross. In the Kochi Multiplexes, the movie is heading towards 1 crore mark and it raked Rs 3.65 lakhs on second Monday with a good occupancy of 45.51% on a weekday, taking total collections of the movie in Kochi Multiplexes till date to Rs 92.99 lakhs.
On the other hand, the movie which released in 150+ screens outside the Kerela minted close to Rs 4.5 crores gross until now.
The total 12 days India collection of Haneef Adeni’s debut directional project ‘The Great Father’ is Rs 29.14 crores gross and Rs 13.09 crores share.
As the movie is made under a budget of Rs 7 crores including publicity and prints, it remained as profitable venture for both the producers and distributors as it minted close to double the investment till date.
Nonetheless, Mammootty’s new movie ‘Puthan Panam’ directed by Ranjith is slated for release tomorrow in Kerela.
