Raghava Lawrence – Ritika Singh’s Horror drama ‘Sivalinga’ is steady at the box office in Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. After minting Rs 3.95 crores share in its opening weekend at AP/TS box office, the film performed well on Monday by minting Rs 75 lakhs share, which is a good amount for P Vasu’s directional project on a weekday.
With Monday collections, the film raked Rs 4.70 crores share from Two Telugu states in its 4 days run. As the film’s theatrical rights were sold for Rs 8 crores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it still needs to recover Rs 3.3 crores to reach its break-even amount.
Trade experts predict that the movie can remain as safe venture for its buyers after observing steady collections for the film on Monday, and the failure of Varun Tej’s ‘Mister’ at the box office is additional advantage for Lawrence’s horror drama to rake good amount at the box office until the release of ‘Baahubali: The conclusion’ on April 28th.
Sivalinga is an official remake of Kannada movie ‘Shivalinga’ starring Shivarajkumar and Vedhika in the lead role and P Vasu himself directed the original version in 2016. Raghava Lawrence and Ritika Singh essayed the roles of Shivarajkumar and Vedhika from the original version. S S Thaman composed the music and it is bankrolled by R Ravindran under his Trident Arts banner.
