Varun Tej – Lavanya Tripathi – Hebah Patel’s triangular love story ‘Mister’, which released on April 14th, opened up with poor reviews from the critics and the general public. Even though the film performed well on opening day by minting Rs 3.23 crores, it failed to maintain consistency at the box office from day 2 onwards due to poor talk. The film minted Rs 2.27 crores share on Saturday and Sunday taking the total 1st-weekend collections of Varun Tej’s ‘Mister’ to Rs 5.5 crores.
On Monday, the collections were heavily dropped as the film minted only Rs 43 lakhs share from Two Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The total 4 days collection of Mister in AP/TS box office is Rs 5.28 crores share.
In the USA, Mister raked $1020k on Monday taking total USA collections till date to $71,582. The Karnataka and rest of the areas collections in 4 days is Rs 70 lakhs share.
Overall, Sreenu Vaitla’s directional project minted Rs 6.08 crores share by the end of its four days run. As the film’s worldwide Theatrical rights were sold for Rs 22 crores, the movie still needs to collect Rs 15.92 crores to recover its break-even amount.
However, after considering below par performance of the film at the box office on Monday, Mister is likely to close its business by the end of its 2 weeks run and going to remain as huge loss venture for its distributors.
Story written by Gopimohan, Mister has music composed by Mickey J Meyer and it is produced by Tagore Madhu and Nallamalupu Bujji under Lakshmi Narasimha productions banner.
