Mumbai is famous for being at the center stage of entertainment with its ‘Bollywood’ film industry, now is being taken one step further by having a center for animation, gaming, and comics. Maharashtra chief minister led cabinet approved a proposal in this regard and allotted 20-acres of land at the site of Goregaon Film city.
‘National Center for excellence for Animation, Gaming and Comics’ will be developed on international standards, in association with the Union Information and Broadcasting ministry. An official informed that the institute will offer undergraduate, postgraduate courses in addition to the research facilities. It will also look for public sector and industry partnership.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was bent upon getting this project for Mumbai, he had made this project his top priority, he had made an announcement a year back in this reference. This center will cater to youngsters, who aspire to become filmmakers or learn Digital 3-D technology to pursue the career in the fastest growing sectors.
A high official of the government cherished this project and said that digital technology is the part and parcel of movie making and for other evolving visual media platforms. Even a university professor appreciated the endeavor of Centre and the State, he hoped this will work well for the aspiring students.
