Rana Daggubati’s political-drama ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’, which released yesterday in theaters amidst huge competition from other two releases ‘LIE’ and ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’, takes the lead at the box office on the first day of its release. Both in the Telugu states and overseas markets, Nene Raju Nene Mantri takes the lead with more than 40 to 50% lead in few areas compared to LIE and Jaya Janaki Nayaka.
As per the early estimates, ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ is estimated to mint between Rs 3 to 4 crores at the Telugu states on Friday. While Nithiin’s ‘LIE’ and Bellamkonda Sreenivas’s ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ are estimated to mint between Rs 2 to 3 crores each approximately.
In the USA markets, ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ minted $250k gross including Premieres and Friday collection. While the Nithiin’s ‘LIE’ is moderate at the USA box office by earning $90k gross approximately. However, Boyapati Sreenu directional project ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ failed to attract US audience as it minted only $24k approximately on day one.
Thus Rana Daggubati – Teja’s ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ off to good start at the box office, Nithiin – Hanu Raghavapudi’s ‘LIE’ opened moderately and Bellamkonda Sreenivas – Boyapati Sreenu’s ‘Jaya Janaki Janaka’ is average in Telugu states and poor at the overseas markets.
